WiseWrench is built to be the knowledgeable family member you call before signing a repair quote. That only works if you can trust where our answers come from — so here's exactly how we make money and what never influences a recommendation.

Affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate, WiseWrench earns from qualifying purchases. When an analysis recommends parts, some of the retailer links (currently Amazon) are affiliate links — if you buy through one, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

• Part recommendations come from our analysis of your repair and from what real mechanics recommend on camera — never from commission rates.
• We show affiliate links only on parts where we have reasonable fitment confidence, and we link non-affiliate retailers (like AutoZone and O'Reilly) right alongside them.

Paid reports

Pre-purchase reports are a paid product. That's the whole transaction — you pay for the report, and no third party pays us to shade what's in it.

Shop recommendations are never paid placements

Shops cannot pay to appear in WiseWrench, to rank higher, or to remove honest signals from their profile. Rankings are computed from public reviews, state licensing data, each shop's own published specialties, and fit with your vehicle and preferences.

AI-generated content

Analyses and reports are generated by AI (Anthropic's Claude), grounded in a knowledge base we build from government data (NHTSA complaints, recalls, service bulletins) and mechanic-community content. AI can make mistakes — we show confidence levels and sources so you can judge for yourself, and we recommend verifying anything high-stakes with a licensed mechanic.
