Privacy Policy
Effective August 8, 2026
WiseWrench ("we", "us") helps car owners understand repair quotes, decide between DIY and a shop, and research vehicles before buying. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don't sell your personal information, and we don't run advertising trackers.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, a password (stored by our authentication provider as a secure hash — we never see it), and your ZIP code. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google.
- Profile answers. Your responses to our onboarding questions about repair experience and preferences, and the scores derived from them. These personalize your recommendations.
- Vehicle information. Year, make, model, trim, VIN (if you provide it), mileage, and any symptoms or notes you add to your garage.
- Repair analyses. Repair descriptions you type, photos of estimates you upload, shop names, and the analyses we generate from them.
- Pre-purchase reports. The vehicle details you look up, the email address you provide at checkout, and the asking price if you enter one.
- Approximate location.Your ZIP code, and — only if you tap the locate button in Shop Finder — your browser's location, which is used for that search and not stored.
How we use it
- To provide the service: analyzing estimates, matching you with shops, generating reports.
- To personalize recommendations to your skill level and preferences.
- To deliver what you bought — for example, emailing you the link to a paid report.
- To protect the service: rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
AI processing
Repair analyses and reports are generated with Anthropic's Claude models. The text and images you submit (for example, a photo of an estimate) are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers that run the product:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and storage.
- Anthropic — AI analysis, as described above.
- Stripe — payment processing. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never receive or store full card numbers.
- Google — maps, geocoding, and shop listing data.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
The app also links out to third-party sites (YouTube videos, parts retailers including Amazon). Once you leave WiseWrench, those sites' own privacy policies apply — see our Disclosures for how affiliate links work.
Retention and deletion
You can delete individual analyses and vehicles in the app. To delete your account and associated data, email us at support@wisewrench.aiand we'll process it within 30 days. We may retain records we're legally required to keep (for example, payment records).
Your California privacy rights
If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, email support@wisewrench.ai.
Children
WiseWrench is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted, and payment data is handled entirely by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will notify you of any breach as required by law.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and note it in the app. Questions? Email support@wisewrench.ai.
