WiseWrench

Terms of Service

Effective August 17, 2026 · Version 2026-08-17

These terms govern your use of WiseWrench. By creating an account, buying a report, or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

What WiseWrench is — and isn't

WiseWrench is an informational and educational tool. It helps you understand repair estimates, research known vehicle issues, and find shops. It is not professional mechanical, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed mechanic inspecting your actual vehicle.

  • Cost estimates, difficulty ratings, and issue lists are estimates built from public data, mechanic-community content, and AI analysis. Your vehicle, your region, and your shop may differ.
  • If you choose to do a repair yourself, you do so at your own risk. Automotive work can cause serious injury or death and can damage your vehicle. Know your limits, use proper equipment, and when in doubt, use a professional.
  • Shop information comes from public sources and the shops' own websites. We don't guarantee any shop's work, pricing, or availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WiseWrench, its owners, operators, and affiliates are not liable for any injury, vehicle damage, or financial loss arising from repairs, purchase decisions, or shop choices made using information from the service.

Pre-purchase reports

A pre-purchase report is a paid summary of known issues, recall history, and buying-relevant checks for a vehicle model — built from our verified knowledge base and public data. It is not a vehicle inspection, not a vehicle history report (like Carfax), and not a guarantee of any specific vehicle's condition. It describes what commonly goes wrong with that model, not what has gone wrong with the specific car you're looking at. Always get an independent mechanical inspection before buying a used vehicle.

Payment is processed by Stripe. Your report is delivered on the purchase confirmation page and by email. If your report fails to generate, or you believe it's materially defective, contact us at support@wisewrench.ai within 14 days of purchase and we'll make it right — with a regenerated report or a refund.

Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
  • You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • One account per person. You must be at least 16 to use the service.

Acceptable use

Don't:

  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content or data from the service.
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or payment.
  • Use the service to build a competing dataset or to resell our content.
  • Upload content that's unlawful or that you don't have the right to share.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Affiliate links

Some parts links are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, WiseWrench earns from qualifying purchases. This never changes which parts we recommend — see Disclosures for details.

Content and ownership

The service, its knowledge base, and its analyses are owned by WiseWrench. Content you submit (estimate photos, descriptions, notes) remains yours; you grant us the license needed to process and store it to provide the service to you.

AI-generated content

Analyses, estimates, reports, and scripts are generated in substantial part by artificial intelligence working from public data and community content. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Verify any recommendation against your vehicle's service documentation or a licensed mechanic before acting on it.

Assumption of risk and release

You accept that vehicle repair, maintenance, and purchase decisions carry inherent risk — including personal injury, vehicle damage, and financial loss — and that you alone decide whether and how to act on information from the service. You assume all risk arising from those decisions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release WiseWrench, its owners, operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or losses arising from repairs you perform or commission, vehicles you buy, sell, or keep, and shops you choose, whether or not informed by the service.

Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold harmless WiseWrench and its owners, operators, and affiliates from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your agreement on record

When you accept these terms — at signup, on the acceptance screen, or before purchasing a report — we record the date and time, the document version, and technical details of the request (such as IP address and browser signature) as evidence of your agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted in the app with an updated effective date; continued use after that date is acceptance. Questions? Email support@wisewrench.ai.
